Most Mustang enthusiasts will tell you there is not a bad version of America’s popular pony car. However, many enthusiasts have a very special place in their hearts for Mustangs from the ‘60s. The 1960s Ford Mustang design is both timeless and iconic. Keeping that design alive for the next generation of driving is important. That’s exactly what the Charge Electric Mustang is going to accomplish.
Charge gives the classic Mustang the full electric vehicle treatment. There is a 64 kWh battery with 50 kW DC charging. The Electric Mustang features all-wheel-drive with a 200-mile range. It can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, quite a bit faster than a stock ‘60s Mustang.
This performance is possible through electric motors producing 536 horsepower with 1,106 pound-feet of torque. In the old days you would burn through the rear tires of a ‘60s Mustang. Now you can shred all four tires to your heart’s content.
You can get your hands on the Electric Mustang from Charge for a cool $450,000. The British EV company promises to give you a full bespoke interior experience using the finest materials and craftsmanship available. There will be a lot of modern technology fueling the entire experience, this will not ride or feel like a car from the 1960s at all.
Charge will build each Electric Mustang by hand in London. Each customer will be given the option to fully customize their electric Mustang through color and material choices. That’s one of the things that makes owning a car like this so special, you can make it your way.
Of course, there is one catch. Charge is only making a total of 499 Electric Mustang models using bodies from the 1960s. If you want a Charge Electric Mustang, you are going to have to act fast. Giddy up.
